Heat accumulator for heating of propulsive mass.

RU patent № 2224187

The invention applies to devices for heating of propulsive mass and can be used in power propulsion systems of space flight vehicles where a special device is required for periodic accumulation of thermal energy with a subsequent heating of propulsive mass, e.g. hydrogen. The invention is aimed at an increase in heat exchange efficiency, thermal-shock resistance of construction and a decrease in heat accumulator mass. For solving the problem formulated, the heat accumulator is proposed, that incorporates the heat storage unit consisting of gathered heat-accumulating module fulfilled axially symmetric and comprised of outer and inner mass-commensurable members, between which an annular slot is formed for flow and heating of propulsive mass; shield - vacuum insulation; branch pipes for supply and discharge of propulsive mass. On end faces of each module there are channels for supply and discharge of propulsive mass, the supply channels are connected via pipes with the intake manifold with the induction branch pipe of propulsive mass, and that manifold is removed beyond the limits of the shield - vacuum insulation, and the channels for propulsive mass discharge are joined to the exhaust load-carrying manifold with the propulsive mass discharge branch pipe, and that manifold is arranged under the shield - vacuum insulation coating; thereat the exhaust load-carrying manifold is fitted with load-carrying posts fastening the heat storage unit to the load-carrying frame removed beyond the limits of shield-vacuum insulation.
