The invention concerns power saving at desalination of seawater by reverse osmosis method. It can be used in energetics, chemical, food processing industry and other branches of economy.
The goal of the invention is to solve two problems simultaneously: power saving at desalination of seawater and decrease of discharge water negative effect on the environment.
The set problem is reached as follows: in the method of energy consumption reduction at seawater desalination by organization of the osmotic mass transfer through a semi-penetrable membrane, salt solutions of various concentrations are fed on different sides of membrane, in so doing, the concentrate obtained as a result of reverse-osmosis seawater desalination process is used as a source of high-concentration solution and salt initial water is used as a low-concentration solution, and spent solution is removed under pressure being equal to a half the osmotic pressures drop. In addition to it, it is possible to add chemical reagents for prevention of deposition of badly soluble salts of water hardness on the surface of the membrane.
