Storage vessel for low-boiling liquids.

This vessel is applicable for storage of very large volumes of cryogenic liquids, for example,oxygen,hydrogen or liquified natural gases in stationary thermally insulated tanks. These vessels are built near the large liquifying plants or in port terminals fed from sea tankers. The characteristic feature of existing storage vessels is the possibility of pressure surges in filled vessel caused by overheating of liquid adjacent to bottom of vessel and random ascending of it to surface or by rollover of liquid layers having different densities. These surges of pressure could destruct the vessel and , as a rule, mixing systems are used which equalize the density of stored liquid by electrically driven pumps. Usage of electric drive in cryogenic liquids deteriorates the safety and reliability of storage system The design of vessel proposed on Patent №2027944( Int. Cl.F17C3/00 ) eliminates pressure surges by forming in vessel bottom part of permanent ascending flow with placing of additional compartment having inlet holes and outlet pipe. This flow appears as a result of hydrostatic pressure difference outside and inside the compartment and this flow removes heated liquid from the bottom of vessel. Using of proposed construction will allow to cut the cost of vessel and to improve the operational safety. Proposed engineering solution of storage problem is the result of experimental researches and of calculations. Therefore, there is a whole suite of know-how relevant to this patent.
